FARBRENGEN 12-13 TAMMUZ, 5737 (1977)
FARBRENGEN 12-13 TAMMUZ, 5737 (1977)

The Twelfth of Tammuz 1977 marked the fiftieth anniversary of the release of Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak of Lubavitch, the Rebbe’s father-in-law, from Soviet prison.

This black and white video, restored and released in its entirety for the very first time, spans the entire celebration of this milestone: eight talks plus a Chasidic discourse.

In these talks, the Rebbe places a prime focus on the Previous Rebbe’s self-sacrifice in the face of the worst persecutions, and in particular for Jewish education. As always, the emphasis is on action; the Rebbe explains how every person can emulate his deeds.

This special release includes the entire Four Hour Thirty Minutes event. All addresses are presented with subtitles.

Experience the spiritual joy and intellectual rigor of a Farbrengen with the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory.

Listen as the timeless truths of the Written Law, the Talmud, Kabbalah and Chasidism are applied to issues of contemporary social and ethical concern.

During pauses in the Yiddish talk, the thousands in attendance sing Chassidic melodies and the Rebbe greets them with blessings of L’Chaim!

To experience a Farbrengen is to glimpse the unity of higher and lower worlds, a meeting of the Divine and the human, the mystical and the mundane, the timely and the timeless.
